		<description>I have been lucky in that I haven't ever had the situation of having what I thought was the best "person" on the slate of a party I didn't support.  When that happens I don't know what I will do.  Probaably not vote for them since parties tend to steamroller their members (esp this ruling party).</description>

Sometimes you feel like changing your point of view simply because you don't respect suddenly is 'on your side' for that one issue. I've also experienced not knowing whether to vote for a local member of parliament because he or she really doesn't seem to reflect the values of the party that you support. Always a conundrum. On the other hand, as you say, there are those, politicians and others, who seem like very good people who are on the other side of the political or philosophical fence.</description>
